Abstract

The purpose of this study's analysis is to map trends in research publications on the application of artificial intelligence to educational evaluation, using bibliometric analysis of data from Scopus. After entering keywords related to artificial intelligence, evaluation, and education at the data collection stage in Scopus, the author analysed 159 articles selected using the PRISMA method. The next step was to conduct the analysis using R and VOSviewer software. The results of the study show that research on the application of artificial intelligence in educational evaluation began to emerge in 2021 and increased significantly through 2025, with the highest number of publications recorded in 2025. The United States, Australia, and China occupy the top three positions in terms of the number of publications and citations, confirming their significant influence in research on the application of artificial intelligence in educational evaluation. Meanwhile, the most active institutions in this research are the University of the Health Sciences and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. In the study of artificial intelligence applications in educational evaluation, new trends have emerged, including ‘AI literacy’ and ‘artificial intelligence education,’ which still require further exploration.
